The cap was originally used by the CCC as a working cap in the 1930s, made of blue denim, and was issued for a time at the beginning of WWII. It was replaced by the olive color cotton herringbone twill working cap in 1942. It's made from 9 oz selvedge denim, with cotton herringbone twill fabric tape reinforcing from the inside. It has a high reduction degree for the original version.

Surgical Scrub Cap Sewing Pattern This is my most popular surgical cap sewing pattern and all you'll need to sew up the Fat Quarter Unisex scrub cap is 1 fat quarter or 18x22 piece of fabric, a piece of elastic and thread. This is a traditional tieback style surgical scrub hat that has been modified to cut out of a fat quarter of fabric. So go grab some fat quarters from the store and start sewing.
